Nokia N97 weighs just 150gms!Submitted by David Salt Wed, 14 Oct 2009
A new age is here... With our lives becoming faster and more hectic, none of us can do without mobile phones and increasingly rather than just messaging or voice calls, mobile phones have changed the way we create presentations, click photos, listen to music or make a style statement. From QWERTY keyboards to full touchscreens, from 8MP cameras to 32GB internal memory, today's mobile phones are revolutionizing the way we communicate and the way we work.
Touchscreen technology has caught the attention of everyone. Smooth scrolling introduced by Apple iPhone and HTC touch has now turned into a mini revolution with all manufacturers coming out with their mobile phones. So, the conventional leader Nokia is also not far behind. Nokia introduced the first touchscreen mobile phone in the form of XpressMusic 5800. However, a unanimous problem with most touchscreen phones is the difficulty of typing text messages and email. Somehow using fingers on the screen itself just doesn't work well. The solution appears to be to take a full touch-screen technology mobile phone and mix it with a QWERTY keypad. This combined form factor does the trick and the fantastic result of this can be seen in the form of Nokia N97, release date mid-to-late 2009. Though it may not fall into the cheap mobile phones category, the N97 will appeal to the more technologically-aware customers in the market for a phone If critics said that such a phone would be bulky, let them eat their own words, because Nokia N97 weighs just 150gms! It has an impressive internal memory of 32GB and has an expandable card slot for up to 16GB. Just imagine having a small computer in your hands that's as powerful as your laptop. It also features Wi-Fi, 3G, 5MP camera with LED Flash, 3.5 mm audio jack, stereo speakers, GPS, accelerometer, handwriting recognition and even FM radio. All this is neatly packaged with the latest Symbian OS 9.4 S60 rel.5. Viewing all formats of video files on the 3.5 inch resistive touchscreen is surely going to be a fun experience. It is all set to compete against the ruling Apple iPhone and other mobile phones by Samsung, LG and HTC. It seems Nokia finally is ready with the perfect recipe for ruling the roost, even in the touch-screen segment. About the Author
