Pope Is Wasting TearsSubmitted by gerardmaj Thu, 28 Aug 2008
Pope declared in United States that ‘The Canon Law will be corrected so that the sexual abusive priests will be removed from the service’. What happened to the declaration? However, before making any conclusion for this incident, Pope who visited Australia expressed his deep sorrow for the sexual abuse of some Priests there.
In Australia, Pope said “Here I would like to pause to acknowledge the shame which we have all felt as a result of the sexual abuse of minors by some clergy and religious in this country. Indeed, I am deeply sorry for the pain and suffering the victims have endured and I assure them that as their pastor I too share in their suffering”. Earlier, in an interview during his flight to United States, Pope said that “It is a great suffering for the Church in the United States and for the Church in general, for me personally, that this could happen. If I read the history of these events, it is difficult for me to understand how it was possible for priests to fail in this way in the mission to give healing, to give God's love to these children. I am ashamed and we will do everything possible to ensure that this does not happen in future” The first responsibility of Pope is to take necessary actions against the Priests who involve in crimes. It’s Pope’s duty to wash out the stain over the Catholic religion. Moreover, Pope should involve in activities to prevent such issues happening in future. He should guard the Catholic religion. Visiting places around the globe and shedding tears won’t do any good for Pope or the Catholic religion rather than wasting his tears. The Priest’s compulsory monastic life is the root cause of these incidents happening here and there in the Catholic religion. The anomalies of the priests are the result of compulsion to control their sexual feelings. Wiping off the rule that prevents the Priests from getting married is the only solution for this problem. The Catholic priests choose the monastic life at their childhood, when they are not aware of the sexual feelings. Such Priests attain a state of hating the monastic life later on. They won’t be able to completely concentrate in the Religious works. Because of this, they are subject to physical desire which will in turn force them to involve in sexual crimes. The innocent children who believe these Priests become their victims. So, all Catholics expect the immediate necessary actions to be carried away by the Catholic Church leaders. Except those who wish to live as monks, others should be allowed to get married and it is the only thing by which the Catholic Christian religion can be saved from the word of insult. The Catholic Church, should not waste time in simply talking “Our religious clergy are unmarried” as self praise but instead, should change its activities according to the changing world. Thus let the Catholic Church wipe off the black mark on it and with the good name ‘Respectful and pure religion', let it follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ. About the Author
