The Perfect GiftSubmitted by rashmi patel Fri, 3 Apr 2009
Could there really be a perfect gift out there. I am sure the perfect gift differs from individual to individual, but as I have matured with age and experience I do believe I have found that perfect gift. Hmmmm…. what could it be. The perfect gift is none other than yourself. You are that perfect gift that you can give another person
We think we give ourselves to the other but do we really? Are we truly present completely with the other person at all times we are with them? Where is the mind? Is it right there in the present moment with them or is it out there floating in the vast space of time. Our minds are either stuck in the past or floating out beyond into the future. In the meantime we completely miss out on the moment, the present. Ever wonder why it is called "the present"? Because it is a present to yourself and to others. There can be nothing more beautiful than being in the present. The quality of time spent with someone or doing something is unsurpassed. Ever wonder why time flies by so quick when you are with someone you love or reading a real engrossing book or doing something you love. It’s because you are in the present and not stuck in the past or future. The mind is right here and completely engaged in the activity and not swinging like a pendulum back and forth between the past and the future. Being stuck in the past or dreaming about the future prevents us from truly living up to our potential which can lead to inhibiting relationships. So give the best give that you can- be in the present moment when you are with someone. Listen to them hundred percent, pay attention to them completely and participate in whatever activity you might be doing with them a hundred percent and see how magical this could be. Which person are you- a person who spends countless hours in person but mentally somewhere else or a person who is with others both physically and mentally. If the answer is the latter then yes, that is the perfect gift you can give. When you give unconditionally then at some point it begins to reciprocate and then you truly have the perfect. Not only are you the perfect gift but the world around you becomes a perfect gift. About the AuthorSource: ArticleTrader.com ![]() Comments
