Marketing and sales go hand-in-hand and play an important role in the growth of any business. These major categories have many sub-divisions that contribute to the sale of any product or promotion of any business. But all of them start from a basis point, that is, initialization of contacts. The sales person need to first identify the customers those who would require the service or the product and then initialize a discussion with them. Identification can be done through many ways. In most cases, it is done without any problem as it is done without actually getting in contact with the client. But initializing a discussion is a difficult task that many sales people find it difficult. Cold calling is the latest methodology that is used to contact people and check with them on their need for the service or the product that the company offers. This is not a simple task as it sounds. Cold calling involves making of calls to those people whom you have never spoken with or to those people whom you are not sure if they would even be interested in your products or services.

Majority of the people who are called would get irritated, as the call made by the sales agents would interrupt their job. They might be in the midst of an important meeting, sleeping, sick people or involved in any other important work. Moreover, the call made by this sales agent would not be the only cold call they receive throughout the day. They would be receive several similar calls like these so the customers whom the agents call would not even be interested in listening to what the agent has to say. There would also be many cases in which the customers would shout at the sales agents without any question (sometimes decent, sometimes harsh and sometimes vulgar too). This is what puts off the sales agents. Such reactions from the clients not only discourage the sales agents but also make them feel hesitant to make the next call. But this is not an healthy trait that should be there in a sales agent. A sales agent, whatever is the situation, should be able to proceed with the calls without any fear and try to promote sales. They should even be able to modulate their voice so that, even if they are scared, the person on the other end must not be able to identify the fear factor in the agent. This fear factor would hinder sales and affect the growth of the company. So the best way to go about it would be to make the sales agent undergo an activity cum attitude test offered by SPQ Gold that would analyze the sales agent has for cold calling.

There can be no other best tool than SPQ Gold assessment (Sales Preference Questionnaire) that can assess the sales call reluctance of your sales call agents who are required to make cold calls. SPQ Gold sales call reluctance test like would help the employer to judge the sales agents sales call reluctance even before employing the person and be able to make a wiser decision.

SPQ Gold and Sales Call Reluctance are registered trademarks of Behavioral Sciences Research Press.

For more information on SPQ Gold assessment, please visit http://www.fearofcoldcalling.com

--
Richard Bonn is the owner of Awesome Web Marketing.
Book Guest Speakers for Future Corporate Events

Guest speakers boost conferences in Dubai, London, Cape Town and Johannesburg. They shape mindsets in mega cities and international businesses, in Fortune 500 companies and home ventures. Event planners go to great lengths to source the right guest speakers for the right organizations. This can become quite a complex, but very rewarding process. Highly popular guest speakers are obviously in high demand and difficult to get hold off. Believe it or not but guest speakers sometimes have up to three administrational assistants due to their heavy travel schedules. Guest speakers are usually the main attractions at big corporate events, where they share best practices, suggest new innovations and key learning to be used within the industry.

Very often, some of us get so busy with all the business objectives and performance management issues that we lose focus about the bottom-line. This is where invited guest speakers come to the rescue. They refresh our memories and re-emphasize the basics. Their refreshing charisma, intellectual ability and humour are a breath of fresh air to tired corporate minds.

One of these guest speakers to certainly invite is the Meerkat Motivational Speaker from South Africa. Estienne de Beer utilizes a fascinating wildlife talk to ignite conferences and events all over the globe.

--
Estienne de Beer is one of Africa's popular guest speakers.
The Importance Of Values

I am sure that a large part of the reason that you are reading this article right now is because you want to be a success and if you are a coach yourself you want to help your clients succeed too. It is true that the definition of success may be different for every person; however, the real evidence of success essentially is portrayed in who you are right now and who you are becoming. The source of this success is determined by your values. So it is so important to find a way to clarify your values which determine the very nature of your own personal success.

When you know what your values are it does provide you with a head start for making better choices and decisions. Such choices are ones that serve you best, choices that help you to live in alignment with whom you are and who you want to be. They are choices that take you closer to where you want to be and not ones that lead you further away from the point you want to reach. Values are standards by which you choose to live your life by to the best of your ability every day. And by so doing they enable you to focus on what is really important in your life. The natural outcome of living and practicing your values is a life full of joy, excitement, inspiration, harmony, balance and a sense of peace. It, however, does not mean that every day will be stress and problem-free. Realistically, life is full of challenges, but by living according to your values, each event, happening roadblock or slight deviation in plans becomes a little if not a lot easier to manage and becomes a lot less challenging.
If you really want to change something in your life and succeed, you need to get serious about your values. Until you determine what your values are, it is impossible to live the way you want in a way that is long-lasting. Success only comes as a result of having values and practicing them at every opportunity. As Albert Einstein said; Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."

Values fundamentally shape your behaviors, choices and decisions in life. If you go through your days without knowing what your values are, how can you create the kind of life you want for yourself? Thus, it is important to determine your values first to support a clear vision of what it is that you really desire to be able to live the kind of life you dream of.

Values are often overlooked. More emphasis is placed on goals and achieving them. I am not saying that dreams and goals are not important, but what is a goal worth if it is not based on what is important and valuable to you? Goals that are determined by motivations other than ones that are true for you end up feeling and being meaningless. That is the reason why so many people feel empty after having reached a goal that they thought they genuinely wanted. It is because the value of the goal itself is not in alignment with what is valued. If for example one of your values in life is adventure, but you aim for and get a job or relationship that is very stable and offers you security and safety, there will come a time when you will become very unhappy because the relationship or job does not meet what you value, namely adventure and risk-taking. This could be the other way round too of course.
When you confirm and address what you value in yourself, in others, in your work, for your health, for the environment and for your own spiritual journey you can then create the lifestyle of your choice. They determine what your building blocks or choices for success will be. Determining your values encourages you strongly to listen to your inner voice and to do what the heart really wants.

Do you know what your values are? If you are not sure, take some time out and write down in order of priority what standards or values are most important and valuable to you in your life. Do not be surprised if they are different to what you thought they were or what they were 5 years or even 1 year ago. Values DO and are meant to change as you grow develop.

--
Kim Knight M.Ed, CPC, NLP Cert. #1 Provider of Personal Success Strategies for Life www.kimknightcoaching.com International Life Coach

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

For those enamored with the Law of Attraction, you know that in order to achieve abundance you must take action. You may, however, be surprised by some of the Rules for Action listed below. Perhaps you are thinking the right thoughts and feeling the right feelings, but are you actually taking the right actions?

Dynamic action is always far better than passive inertia. Being a passive participant allows you to watch your life as a movie. Being an active participant allows you to star in the leading role. Which role do you choose?

While taking massive action, you may feel as if you are running around like a mad elephant at first, but eventually you will start running like a deer straight towards your goal. Don't know where the goal is right now? No harm! All that matters is that you move. If you go in the wrong direction, you will soon realize it and change your direction. Understand and work with the 7 rules below so you can more easily manifest right action to achieve your dreams of abundance.

Action Rule no. 1
Think not before you act. Each thought begins the process of creation. Random thoughts from our monkey-mind can color our intentions with obstacles. Unfocused thoughts are a heavy load and considerably weaken our life-energy.

Action Rule no. 2
Talk not before you act. Talking is a distraction. You need to be free, both inwardly and outwardly, so you will be able to perceive the next right and perfect action.

Action Rule no. 3
Silence the mind before you act. You can simply be silent or you can pray and meditate; prayer is heard immediately by the Universe. Silence helps us to be present with our most sincere, humble and grateful self. When we know the art of silencing the mind, we can accomplish our tasks faster because of our laser sharp focus.

Action Rule no. 4
Expect not a perfect result from your action. When the result is different from your expectation, you may be frustrated and feel that you have failed. Instead, feel that action itself is a great blessing but the result of your action is only one experience. In the highest sense, failure and success are experiences that help us to develop and expand our consciousness. Regard the result of your action as the exact experience God wanted you to have.

Action Rule no. 5
Decide not before you act. Decisions are made with the mind and will be challenged and devoured by hesitation and procrastination. Act spontaneously from the expansive and creative consciousness of your heart and soul.

Action Rule no. 6
Take not action for action's sake. Nor should you take action motivated by material desire alone. Each desire-action makes you feel how weak, powerless, helpless and meaningless you are. Instead, take aspiration-action. This makes you feel how strong, powerful, soulful and meaningful you are. Action must be taken to fulfill a higher goal.

Action Rule no. 7
Before taking action, begin with inspiration. While you are in action, bring forward your aspiration for something higher and more meaningful. After you finish taking action, surrender the results with non-attachment. In this way the Universe can give to you what you actually need in order to go forward, rather than what you want in order to please yourself.

You must act. If you choose to live a life of inaction, then you are telling God that you do not want to be a player in His Game. We are each a representative of the divine here on earth. Action is perfect when it is of the highest inspiration and aspiration and for the most divine manifestation.

The secret of manifesting anything is in taking right action. By avoiding action, satisfaction will never dawn. It is only in activity that you can make progress and achieve. It is in action, in creation and in manifestation, that you find real satisfaction, real abundance. Manifest by taking action; you will achieve and manifest your highest dreams of life's abundance!

--
Rijuta Tooker is a certified health and life wellness coach and specializes in working with people who want to seamlessly combine their spiritual life with their every-day practical life. He not only reaches our to individuals but he has a core business working with Fortune 500 executives and has even been featured on NBC and CBS.

His original wealth course was called Know How to Be Rich and it was a 6 lesson audio course which gave a detailed explanation of quantum physics as the foundation for manifestation and then taught specific methods and exercises to manifest whatever you can visualize and believe.

Recently he expanded and renamed his program to the Secret of Deliberate Creation. His teachings are not limited to manifesting money and riches. The same principles and methods apply to create whatever you desire in life whether it be wealth, health, relationships, or other experiences. He provides the background, the step by step methods and the tools to do this.

His program will break the negative blocks that are preventing you from being free and happy. He takes a holistic approach which not only addresses the logical explanations of his program but also gets your emotions and belief system in the proper state of mind for rapid manifestation.

Many other wealth teachers do not address the practical obstacles of mind manifestation which for the most part are related to emotional resistance. He teaches you how to overcome those and once they are dealt with, you will see instant changes in your life.

Dr. Robert Anythony goes beyond just teaching you by providing you with his Rapid manifestation audio. I love this and listen to it every night. It is a 12 minute audio that causes you and your thinking and emotions to be aligned and work toward manifesting a defined goal.
We are all looking for a little self-development to help us on the road to being more successful in the workplace and at home managing all our relationships, here you can find ten top tips that may help you.

1. Create your own vision

You cannot set your sights on the horizon if you don't know which direction to look in. Sit down and carefully lay out your thoughts about where you want to be heading. That will be your vision. Write it down in the form of a mission statement and pin it to the wall so you can always refer to it and check your personal development goals are being met.

2. Keep it simple

Complex plans usually fail. Making plans and concepts simple means that your co-workers and employers and employees will better understand what you are trying to achieve. Through simplifying your communications you will increase the audience's understanding of the issue and gain greater consensus for a solution. Be wary not to over simplify issues, or 'dumb them down'.

3. Put trust in people

You people are your greatest asset so trust them. If you give them no responsibility then they will not be committed to the plan, to you or to the organisation. It is a leap of faith and sometimes you will be let down, but overall you will benefit.

4. Stay calm Stress is rarely a good emotion and learning to take a deep breath and step back to look at situation objectivity is a great skill. People flock to calm leaders in a crisis and shy away from stressful people.

5. Learn your trade Knowledge is power, and if you want to grow professionally and spiritually, you will gain huge leaps of self-confidence from knowing your business better. Spend one hour a week studying your skill or trade and the results will be clear to see in no time.

6. Take a little risk Calculated risks gain rewards. If you tow the party line all the time you will never stand out and the average person is not the most successful. So look carefully at the odds and stick your head above the parapet once in a while - and encourage those around you to do it too.

7. Invite criticism 'Yes men' are dangerous, they are not usually being honest, and integrity is one of the great keys to success. You will not always be right so it healthy to encourage those around you to feel that they can constructively criticise you or your plans without undermining your confidence or self-esteem. Together, this practice will work towards a better, more successful solution.

8. Encourage ownership If the big plan always belongs to someone else then they can often feel left out of the glory when it works perfectly, so give away some of the ownership of the problem and encourage people to be responsible for their own actions.

9. Be truthful Integrity is everything. If those around you know that you will be truthful with them, they will respect you more for it, they will know where they stand and will not feel uneasy confiding in you. Respect breeds a healthy working atmosphere, and in turn, success will follow.

--
Steve Betsworth is an Internet Marketer who runs a website which currently offers a free five day e-course and an introductory video which explains not only the principles in this article in more detail, but more methods of finding success.
You Don't Have to Be a Millionaire to Enjoy the Little Things in Life

If I was a millionaire, I would hire an assistant to deal with all the day to day chores of life that just seem to get in the way of living. If I could calculate the hours I spend tidying up loose ends, I don't doubt that I would end up with a figure that far exceeded the hours I spend doing more soul stretching activities. Actually if I think about it, reading a book or doing yoga can't take up half as much of my life as things like sorting out my home insurance, cooking, shopping and ironing.

Obviously it doesn't stop at ironing. I can think of a million other things that blight the flow of my days but I'm sure by now you get the gist.

There's so much I would love to do if I had the time to spare. I know I'm not the only person in the world who feels they are not living up to their full potential. Human beings would have so much more time to explore the world and themselves if they were freed from the constraints of society. I'm not suggesting that we all up and do a runner like Christopher McCandless. No one really wants to die alone on a bus in Alaska with only grizzly bears for company, even if it is in pursuit of finding oneself.

Not having lots of money or a team of assistants to cut your way through a buttery existence, it is even more important to find ways to maximise the time and effort that you put into unavoidable 'chores'. Why not find ways to enjoy the things that we would normally endure? I find simple things like lighting a scented candle and putting on radio four whilst I do ironing can make time flow by much faster. I wouldn't advise doing the ironing whilst watching television because a particularly juicy episode of Jeremy Kyle can be distracting (I have burned many an unsightly hole this way). On the other hand you could always give up ironing altogether, renouncing yourself to tight bobbling clothes. I don't know about you but can't see how that would be therapeutic.

Hoovering the house is always complemented with a favourite dance CD. If you don't have a dance CD then singing along to musicals like The Sound of Music or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang works just fine. There is nothing that will perk up your mornings more than swinging your hips round with a vacuum to the sound of Dick Van Dyke or Julie Andrews. Now, if I was a millionaire I think that's one thing that I just wouldn't want to give up.

--
You can at least save a bit of time finding your cheap home insurance quotes with http://www.confused.com/home-insurance

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

BUILD SELF ESTEEM, A FIRST STEP TO SELF IMPROVEMENT

So how do you stay calm, composed and maintain self esteem in a tough environment? Here are some tips you may to consider as a starter guide to self improvement.

Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. People, situations and everything else around you may become the Darts, at one point or another. These darts will destroy your self esteem and pull you down and around in ways you won’t even remember. Don’t let them destroy you, or get the best of you. You want to avoid these dart. So which darts should you avoid?

Dart #1 : Negative Work Environment
Beware of “dog eat dog” approach where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late working. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned. Don't get caught up in this, it will ruin your energy levels and your self esteem. Be healthy enough to compete, but only in a healthy competition.

Dart #2: Other People’s Behavior
Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, snipers, controllers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers… all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.

Dart #3: Changing Environment
You can’t be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms and our beliefs. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must understand that and embrace it.

Dart #4: Past Experience
It’s okay to cry and say “ouch!” when we experience pain. But don’t let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson. Learn from it and grow to the person you need to become to get to your goals.

Dart #5: Negative World View
Look at what you’re looking at. Don’t wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations.

Dart #6: Determination Theory
The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it doesn’t mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other people’s experience, so you’ll never have to encounter the same mistakes.

Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO. Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldn’t come down from heaven and tell you – “George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.”

In life, its hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Life’s options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means ‘self change’. The kind of change which comes from within. Voluntarily. Armor or Self Change changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking.

Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination. So how do you create a life of high self esteem? Be positive. Be contented and happy. Be appreciative. Never miss an opportunity to compliment. A positive way of living will help you build self esteem, your starter guide to self improvement.

To start down your new road to a more fullfilled life go to www.nlpyourwaytosuccess.com

--
Steve Taylor is an internet marketer and interested in NLP.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

The beginning of each year brings many people into the mode of creating New Year’s resolutions. But I've been thinking about resolutions lately and realized that I haven't made one in years. I never stick to them. They are usually 'broken' before January 31 anyway. That doesn't happen to goals nearly as often.

These thoughts were whirling through my head as I worked on our marketing calendar for 2009. In my opinion, there is a big difference between goals and resolutions. Resolutions are just statements about what I want to happen or plan to do. Goals, on the other hand, are written down, have an action assigned to each items with a deadline of when the goal is to have been met. Goals are easier to achieve because you are holding yourself accountable. When a goal is set using the SMART principle, there is a high probability that it will be reached. SMART stands for the 5 components of a goal and how it should be determined

S is for specific. A vague “I want to be wealthy” is not a good goal. What does wealthy look like? A certain dollar amount in your savings account? No debt? A percentage of all income going into an investment account?

M stands for measurable. If there is no way to measure a goal, how can you know if you’re making progress or achieved what you set out to achieve?

Attainable is the 3rd component. A belief in yourself is the key. This includes skills and your attitude about life and about whether you are able to make it happen. Once you believe in yourself, you’ll be able to achieve.

Realistic is the next step in formulating a good, concrete goal. Do you believe that no matter how much you work towards it that you’ll be the next person on the moon? But, no, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t reach for something a little out of your current grasp. Attainable is the precursor to realistic, because if you truly believe it can be achieved, you’ll establish a realistic goal.

T if the final of the 5 guidelines for creating a goal, and that is for timely. Without a deadline, or incremental deadlines to reach the goal, you will not have a focus to get there by a specific time. Back to the example about being specific about being wealthy. By what date do you want to be out of debt? By what date do you want to see that specific dollar amount in your savings account?

A SMART goal is one that will be easier to reach because you applied a systematic process to deciding what to do. Each of the five components has a reason and purpose when determining what you want to do and why.

Resolutions normally are a thought or desire that people resolve to do. A frequently stated resolution is to lose weight. This resolution is vague, with no action attached. A goal, on the other hand, would state the SPECIFIC action – walk 3 miles a day, join a health club, hire a fitness coach. The number of pounds you will lose is MEASURABLE. Do you believe you can do it? If you stated 200 pounds, maybe not. But 20? 30? 50? These are most likely ATTAINABLE. Once you agree that number of pounds is attainable, you will believe they are REALISTIC, too. And by what date do you want to lose this weight? TIMELY is important. But with it comes to something like weight loss, give yourself incremental goals. Maybe 5 pounds a month, for example. Then if you chose to lose 50 pounds by December 31 (remember to be that specific), you can see that your incremental goals will allow you to work towards the ultimate goal.

Be SMART and you'll be successful when establishing goals.

--
Cindy Hartman is President of Hartman Inventory LLC, a woman-owned business that provides business and home inventory services.
