A Human Being Needs StoriesSubmitted by erkkikanto Fri, 31 Jul 2009
The human mind is the creation of a being, which is born helpless into the family situation. To be able to live, they have to get their way of life, their abilities and emotions and their ways of behaving by imitating their mother and father. Because human beings get their abilities from the generations of both mothers and fathers, she or he is not happy to behave like a mother or father. One has to fit in to the personality of both families. A human being has to separate herself or himself from the father and the mother to find their own way of life. In this work the human beings have to arise against the difficult emotional complexes left by parents. This emotional work is done by dreams and stories.
In Dr. Olavi Moilanen's intriguing new book "Find Your True Self Through Your Fantasies and Dreams," he reveals that myths, tales, and fairy stories can make our world a better and more enjoyable place to live in. In addition, they will provide us with a more truthful and revealing picture of the secrets of life and world than the western science ever can. The most profound truth of life is hidden in dreams, myths, and tales... Each and every one of us carries inside the ingredients of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, The Ugly Duckling, and Sleeping Beauty. Yet, for each of us, these fairy tales may represent totally different stories. Certain common factors, of course, are to be found as well. We all carry within us the Ugly Duckling, who lives isolated in the prison of his self-contempt until he finds the beauty of his own soul. Likewise, we embrace Cinderella, who regards her (step) sisters and brothers treated better than herself, only to find her identity through the power of love. We also contain Snow White, who-even if a genuinely expected child-has to adventure into the land of dwarves, in other words, adults-to-be, to find her own essence. We also have within us Sleeping Beauty, who goes on sleeping until love awakens her. Dr. Moilanen also discloses the fact what silence brings about the dream and the story. These both are the playful speech of life, without any seriousness. Life is merely a dream and a story. The grandest part of life is like a beautiful dream or a touching story. They jointly represent the basic elements of a life seeker: beauty, love, and truthfulness. In love, an individual can best be present to reality and understand another. During the experience of beauty, all speech dies down. In truth, all words lose their meaning. There is only silence that seeks to surface as images, dreams, stories, and myths. I personally find studying dreams, fairy tales and fantasies extremely mesmerizing. There's more information at http://www.findyourtrueself.us About the Author
