Environmental Action Could Help UK Businesses Save £millions

Gaining a true understanding of environmental impact and accurately monitoring and measuring improvements is the key to unlocking hidden profits for UK businesses, according to sustainable business experts Envirowise.

The organisation believes the struggling UK retail sector alone could reap the rewards of significantly reducing the £360 million worth of waste it produces per year[1] by adopting and adhering to some simple resource efficiency initiatives.

To help companies get a hold on their true environmental position and develop a cost-saving environmental strategy, Envirowise has launched a comprehensive Environmental Strategic Review (ESR) Guide. The Guide is primarily aimed at retail businesses, but contains advice that Envirowise believe will be of use to many sectors.

As environmental regulations are more rigidly enforced and competitive pressures increase, failure to maximise the use of resources and to minimise waste could prove an expensive mistake for many companies.

The ESR guide looks at how companies can adopt a systematic approach to reviewing resources and encourages businesses to consider adopting efficient environmental management systems.
