I used to teach something called Accelerated Learning. Then I decided it was too slow, so now I am teaching Instant Learning! The fact is that human beings are unlimited in their capacity to learn, change, grow, expand, connect, and be inspired.

In fact, the first lesson of Instant Learning is to de-hypnotize yourself from the social programming that tells you that learning should take years.

You can move forward as fast as you want. You can absorb information at the speed of thought. You can use the processes explained in this book to get all A’s in school, to earn a doctorate, to pass an exam, or just to become the smartest person on the planet.

Learning is the acquisition of knowledge and skills.

Instant learning is the acquisition of knowledge and skills as fast as they are taught or demonstrated to you—instantly.

Step 1: Definition of Terms
The first step in learning any new knowledge is to clearly define the terms. The better and more insightful your definitions, the more meaningful your overall learning experience will be.

If you are reading a book or textbook, find out how that author defines the terms to be used and capture that first.

Definitions:
Learning is the acquisition of knowledge and skills.

Instant learning is the ability to acquire knowledge and skills as fast as they are taught or demonstrated to you—instantly.

The key question to ask yourself is “What is this really?” Make it a habit to get down to the root of things right away.

Step 2: Categorization
Becoming an expert in any field is the process of making finer and more detailed distinctions. Experts make finer and more detailed distinctions than others.

An expert on cars recognizes many types of cars. She can tell them apart by manufacturer, vehicle type, engine size, make and model, option package, color, condition, number of previous owners, or place of manufacture. She is an expert.

Ski instructors can tell eight to ten different types of snow apart from one another. The native peoples of the North can tell 50! They are experts.

A speaker of Japanese can instantly recognize four classes of verbs, all of which conjugate in different ways. A grammarian who studies classical Japanese recognizes more than ten types of verbs. They are experts.

As soon as you have nailed down the most important definitions, start to capture the different distinctions made by the experts and the categories or boxes that they put things into. For example, learning can be divided into the learning of conceptual knowledge or the learning of skills!

This distinction is important because it affects the process we use in each case. The key question here is “How do we break this up to make it more understandable or easier to apply?”

The more distinctions you know, the faster you grow.

In the next article we will discuss steps 3 – 5 to instantly learn conceptual knowledge.

--
Roice Krueger was a co-founder of FranklinCovey, the world's largest training and education company.
How to use the Internet to help you study

Discipline. Studying requires immense discipline, which should come naturally, once you’ve made an inroad; it requires commitment to stay on that road. This rule should apply in the library, at home with your textbooks, and on the web.

Unfortunately I’ve discovered distraction can happen without you knowing. On the internet, as part of a distance learning course, I once set out to get a simple set of statistics on employment change in my local area but somehow managed to spend two hours reading about the history narrow gauge railways in North Wales. How? Why?

Never mind. The same thing happens in the library, you just need to walk straight past the newspaper and CD sections, look straight ahead, straight to the non-fiction, find your book, sit down, read it, and learn the stuff!

Guidance is more important than you’d think if you’d never considered the Internet as a functional and viable studying tool. Simply typing in words relevant to your subject might not necessarily yield the most useful information.

I just started out with Distance Learning, and although the syllabus, tutorials and classes are conducted via the Internet, research is primarily through this means. The guidance and suggestions from my tutor are crucial for using the Internet to help you study.

There are a range of management papers and reference materials available in easy to use formats such as PDF documents. Knowing how to find them and make the time you spend researching online is a skill in itself. Some you can learn as you go along, the more familiar you become with following links, straightforward web searches, and searching within specialist web sites.

The Internet is a great way to help you study, and familiarity with search engine techniques means you can go straight to the information you need. Cross-referencing is easy too, because searches will often yield multiple sources. For important statistical information, it’s best to use bona fide governmental or academic resources online. You’ll quickly learn what types of sources you can rely on, take with a pinch of salt, or dismiss, and importantly, without decisions taking you too much time!

If you’re going to take a business degree online, or any online degree that can be done suitably via a range of web based teaching tools and learning methods then you’ll find studying on the Internet to be a brilliantly convenient way to get the information you need.

Plus there is a range of ways to get in touch with your tutor or communicate with fellow students – email, forums, web chats, web video links etc. Communication over the Internet is cheap, easy and quick, and ideal for studying.

Of course, using time efficiently, especially when researching, is the key. There’s no point just going online and wandering around web sites idly hoping you’re going to get the information you need. By focusing your efforts on what you’re looking for, understanding what it is you’re looking for, the Internet will be an indispensable tool for studying.

--
I am taking marketing courses and am about to get my Online Degree soon.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

It's digestive disease week (DDW) and this year the venue is Chicago, the windy city. I was chatting with a surgeon yesterday evening and he asked what sort of things hypnosis can help with. "Anything which has a psychological input" I answered. "In that case, that covers everything" was his response.

It's true. Hypnosis can be used to change how you feel, act, behave or respond in relation to anything, because EVERYTHING does indeed have a psychological component. Hypnosis can even help with things which at first appear to be entirely physical. Take IBS for instance; the symptoms are very physical and very real. And yet research has shown that hypnosis is in actual fact one of the most effective forms of treatment. IBS hypnosis is a very effective treatment indeed. Operations have even been performed using hypno-anesthesia, and I'm not talking small operations; I'm referring to major surgery, like hip replacements.

Your mind and body are intrinsically linked and research in the area of psycho-neuro-immunology (PNI) has shown that every thought you have triggers messengers in the form of neuro-transmitters and hormones to every cell in your body. There is a constant interaction between mind and body. Hypnosis can be used to direct and control this flow of information. For example you can direct your mind to dull perception of pain, reduce blood pressure, promote healthy digestion, and change your temperature, and so on. It is truly amazing what you can direct your mind to do with the help of hypnosis.

Sometimes the thoughts you have are conscious, but more often they are subconscious. Hypnosis allows access to your subconscious mind, and so allows you to direct and control the instinctive and automatic thoughts which just happen by themselves. Thus hypnosis can be used to change habits, like biting your nails, smoking or over-eating. These are of course the most common things which hypnosis is known to help with; hypnosis confidence, hypnosis weight loss and stop smoking hypnosis are all very effective treatments.
Hypnosis can also be used to change state, to enable you to relax in an instant whenever you want to or whenever you feel that you need to. Therefore hypnosis is a very effective treatment to turn to if you wish to overcome worries, tensions, fears or phobias. If you are a person who suffers from anger, or fits of temper, hypnosis can be used to sooth these unwanted emotions.

You can also use hypnosis to focus, to create a state of flow, a state which is better known in sport as being "in the zone". There are a huge number of ways in which hypnosis can be applied in sport, and these reflect mental strategies which are beneficial in life as well. You can learn how to take a step back and dissociate, and also to step forwards and feel comfortable in the lime-light.

The fact is that everything which you experience in life depends upon how you think about it. You take in sensory information through sight, sound, feel, taste and smell. But none of these perceptions mean anything until your mind makes sense of them. It is how you think which creates your reality. And most often these thoughts are automatic and unconscious. With hypnosis you can learn to direct and control your thoughts about EVERYTHING, from confidence, to habits, to IBS, to surgical operations to sport.

What else do you know of that has this ability to empower at such a deep level and to such an infinite degree?

The best tip to anyone who wishes to empower their mind, and therefore their reality, is to learn to use hypnosis and everyone can do this with the help of hypnosis downloads.

Roseanna Leaton, specialist in hypnosis downloads for health, well-being and success.

--
With a degree in psychology and qualifications in hypnotherapy, NLP and sports psychology, Roseanna Leaton is one of the leading practitioners of self-improvement.
How Pareto's Principle Can Help You Make Money

Making money online is only different from making money in the tangible world of bricks-and-mortar in that the technicalities are different. You could compare just about every aspect of a "real world" business to an online one, and one of the general rules of business (and life in general) is known as the 80/20 rule.

In the late 19th Century, the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto suggested this, and it became widely known as Pareto's principle because of Josepth Juran (who sadly died last year). Juran is mostly known as being the main evangelist for quality in all things related to business.

Pareto suggested that ROUGHLY 80% of any effects come from 20% of the causes. While he originally applied this to land ownership in Italy (20% of the people owning 80% of the land), both he and Juran realized that this could easily be applied to all things.

In Business, this rule stated two apparent things: 80% of your business will come from 20% of your customers AND, 80% of your problems will come from 20% of your customers. The interesting part about this is that It's NOT THE SAME 20%! There IS a correlation between the two, but it's not what you might expect; the correlation is, in fact, reversed.

The connection between these two figures is quite the opposite to what you would at first think, but on further investigation, it becomes clearer. If somebody is trading with you regularly, they know your products, they know the way you do business, they know your staff etc. In fact, they are very familiar with you company in all respects, so they RARELY have problems, and when they do, they know how to resolve them (who to call, whether they should email etc.).

The 80% of your customers who do only 20% of your business with you are NOT so familiar with your company and the way it operates, nor do they know who to call or how best to contact them. There THESE are the people from where most of your problems will arise. They may not even know how best to order from you, so are more likely to make mistakes from the outset.

The 80/20 principle is actually a VERY ROUGH guide. This is easily evidenced by the fact that the Government owns 30% of land in the U.S. and in the U.K. well over 50% is owned by the Church and Royal Family combined. The 80/20 Rule certainly doesn't apply in these cases; so, treat the 80/20 Rule more as a GUIDELINE only.

So, with this in mind, how can this be of any help to you? Well, the first place to start is with your time. You should try to determine which (roughly) 20% of your time is the time that brings you the most rewards (monetarily that is).

Then, once you've figured-out what it is that you do to make most of your money, DO MORE OF IT! Those areas that take up your time but accomplish very little should, if at all possible, be either stopped altogether, allocated LESS time, or be delegated to somebody who is paid to do that kind of work.

If this simply means watching 1 hour less of Television each day, then that's a very legitimate place to start. On AVERAGE, people in the U.S. watch about 4 hours of TV every day. If you're not one of these, please ignore this. However, if you will honestly put yourself in this category, then cut down a little. You really won't miss it as, let's be honest, most Television consists of either commercials or fun (but useless) fiction.

Self analysis is a key component of applying the 80/20 Rule to improve your life. Let's face it, we can make changes to just about everything if we choose to, but whether those changes benefit us or not is another matter altogether.

So you must make an analysis of your time, effort and other resources before you can determine exactly WHERE to make the changes that are necessary to your improved life and business.

A simple example would be this: if you eat 5 cakes a day (or ice creams or a combination of these….don't tell me you've never done that!) and exercise for 5 minutes, how would your life improve if you ate only 1 cake a day and exercised for 20 minutes? Those 20 minutes of exercise can easily be what makes you feel physically good for the next 80 minutes (though in reality the effects of exercise last a LOT longer!).

This may sound like a puerile example, but consider two things; some people actually do this (or don’t exercise AT ALL) and even if you don’t do this, there is most likely something YOU do that is equally bad for you that you aren’t aware of.

I like to spend a lot of my time educating myself. Most towns have libraries and there millions of books to read.........some of them are actually GOOD books with FACTS in them, though these are in the minority I’m afraid to say.

You can give yourself the equivalent of a PhD education just by reading the right kind of books regularly. Spend some of your time doing this, and a little less doing non-productive things, and it will pay you big dividends. You just need to learn to be patient in when receiving these rewards; this is known as “gratification delay” by many psychologists.

On a final note, AUTOMATE as many things as possible, even if this means initially spending more time setting these things up. Do something ONCE whenever possible so that you can reap the rewards of this work for years to come.

The right software on your computer can make your life a lot easier (once you’ve learned how to use it, which would count as doing something ONCE) and automating tasks can free-up many hours that you can spend on being more creative in your business, and indeed, in your home life.

--

Luke Hawthorne has been writing for over 14 years. His interests include making money, flying airplanes, skiing, scuba-diving and paragliding.

The sudden increase in the demand for registered nurses, certified nurse assistants, licensed practical nurses, and medical assistants led to the increase in number of students who want to pursue a Nursing School Degree.

Nursing is commonly defined as the science and art of promoting life. It is a very humble profession; a nurse's primary responsibility is to assist people, families, and communities to maintain good health conditions and/or recover from illnesses.

Nursing Schools are the stepping-stones of students who have that desire to help other people in distress. The curriculum followed by Nursing Schools varies worldwide, but they usually include extensive research, study of nursing theory, and clinical skills training. After finishing the general nursing studies, a nursing student needs to pass an exam to be regarded as a Registered Nurse.
A Registered Nurse can further specialize as a Clinical nurse, a Clinical Specialist, a Nurse Practitioner, a Nurse Anesthetist, or a Nurse Midwife, provided that he/she passed the advanced-level quaternary education Degree, Masters of Science in Nursing. This graduate-level Degree focuses in advanced nursing specialties and techniques, which involve acute care, palliative care, pediatric, psychiatric, among others. Masters of Science in Nursing Degree graduates may also choose to specialize in Psychiatric and mental health, learning disabilities nursing, pediatric nursing, geriatric nursing, or home-health nursing. They can also choose to specialize in Nursing Research.

After earning several Nursing School Degrees, one can choose to work in clinics and hospitals (as most nurses do), in schools (as an educator), or in non-hospital settings such as companies, schools, military branches, churches or local communities.

--
The sudden increase in the demand for registered nurses, certified nurse assistants, licensed practical nurses, and medical assistants led to the increase in number of students who want to pursue a Nursing School Degree.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Understanding the Power of Association

I’d like to say something about “associating.” Sometimes we think of this word in terms of our personal associations, the building of our relationships; but there is another way of associating. It is associating with your mind. Learn from others; study those who are successful. If you have the opportunity to attend a seminar or a lecture, that is a wonderful way of associating because you can learn the principles and concepts that the speakers and attendees use to become successful.

You need to fill your minds with the biographies of successful people, whether those people have become successful in wealth, politics, inventing, or whatever.

Study whatever you want to become good at.

I suggest you buy a bunch of biographical videos for $20 each. When I first caught on to this principle, I bought $4,000 worth of biography videos: everything from Ray Kroc and his success with McDonald’s, to Thomas Edison; and I thought “Wow!” I have watched the videos multiple times. What I get from them permeates, penetrates, and fills the space in my mind.

Now I want to talk about another way to associate. It’s called “virtual association.” I went bankrupt 33 years ago. I lost $2 million of other people’s money in one day (I have since paid it all back). My life had been turned upside down; things were not going well. But I had been reading books. I said, “Now wait a second, I have access to these wonderful minds!” I had what we now call a virtual mastermind: I had Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie, and Walt Disney guarding and guiding me. I grew up loving them. I also admired John Kennedy because he said, “Let’s land a man on the moon.” I had the greatest speaker at the time, Dr. Martin Luther King. I felt as though I actually had conversations with them.

My clients would say, “Well, we need this, this, and this.” And I would think of my virtual masterminds and inquire, “What would you say to them?”

You can get access to the best minds in the world if you study them, if you do your homework.

I had the opportunity one summer of taking care of some orchards for a recluse, a brilliant man who was on the school board in our district. I would go see him inside the house from time to time, and he would teach me. One day he asked, “Roice, where are you going to go for your university?” I fired off the names of two or three Ivy League universities; I wanted to impress him. He looked at me and said, “Why are you going there?” I said, “I want to learn, and I want to have that name behind me.” He thought for a minute and then said, “Roice, I would advise you to do this: Find the university that has the finest teachers in the field that you want to be in and then suck their brains out.”

In other words, make the emphasis on the learning, the association.

--
Roice Krueger was a co-founder of FranklinCovey, the world's largest training and education company. Amazingly, Roice has consulted for 80% of the Fortune 500 companies. Those companies know that Roice delivers the goods, and they continue to beat a path to his door when they need help!
Success Beyond Sacrifice

What is Success to You?
The definition of success we seek to live and breath is as varied as we are unique. Yet, there is a common thread that links us to the other on a universal whole.

As spiritual beings in a human body, we are conditioned to aspire great success in our life. A natural role of human conditioning and essential for growth, aspirations and the actions we attach to them are an expression of our unique gifts and talents.

As long as our desire for success benefits ourselves while serving others and impacting the planet in a positive way, bringing more awareness, knowledge, abundance, joy and love, we are on-path for success.

In striving for success, I have become increasing aware of the ways I choose to sacrifice myself. In part, due to my belief system of how I “think” success is attained, and in part, due to wanting to help others succeed, I have at times ignored my truest desires.

While striving for success, do you:

• Push yourself to complete a task when you feel tired?

• Say “yes” when you want to say “no”?

• Settle into a relationship when only 3 out of 5 key elements are met? Do you stay because you believe this is the best you will receive? Do you fear being alone?

• Place attention on small daily tasks finding that by the end of the day you have little energy left for your ultimate creations and enjoyment?

• Spend time with people you do not feel connected to?

• Know what you are FEELING?

Our mind is a powerful tool for keeping us safe, setting intentions and drawing conclusions. It can, however, override our truest needs if we allow it. We’ve all heard how there are thousands of thoughts coming through our minds each day. What is overwhelming is most thoughts are repeatedly negative, nagging, non-loving beliefs that hold us back from our true nature…LOVE.

By listening to the subtle signs and messages provided by our body, particularly the heart (emotional center) and solar plexus (gut feeling), we can tap into our innate knowing for true guidance. In honoring our body’s feelings we can then choose a particular course of action, or non-action.

Often, when we are busy DOING or completing our tasks for success, it is an avoidance of our feelings. Becoming increasingly mindful to what you are doing is the first step to transformation.

Clients and friends regularly seek my guidance for their personal relationships, challenges at work, or how to deepen their connection with spirit. My answer is always drawn from the same conclusion – go inside, feel, and listen. Get to know yourself intimately, examine your beliefs, and understand the motivation behind your actions.

One of the greatest ways we learn about ourselves is through RELATIONSHIP. Relationship with our partner, our husband, our daughter, our brother, our co-worker, and our friend - everyone we meet will in some way influence us. Often times triggering us, people will teach us by mirroring back what we most need to learn. How others treat you can be a direct reflection of the level of love you have for yourself.

For success BEYOND sacrifice, go inside for direction. Embrace your emotions and recognize your thoughts, express your truths, set boundaries, enjoy good nutrition, exercise, play, laugh and get plenty of rest.

When we are especially stressed, repeating old patterns, or simply feel drawn, then seek external guidance. Read books and listen to CD’s for inspiration, schedule bodywork as prevention for signs of stress and discomfort, experience energy healing for transformation at the cellular level, obtain counseling to understand the body/mind connection, attend workshops or retreats, connect with nature, and whatever else suits your fancy.

Then go back inside – meditate, journal, breath, dance, and rest. Become an expert at interpreting messages from your body.

In essence, Success BEYOND Sacrifice comes as a result of listening and trusting yourself while taking one moment at a time.

In love & guidance

--

Businesswoman, Antoinette Coleen Wynia assists Women to be success stories and inspiration to others.
Living A Balanced Life or Are You A Juggler?

Living A Balanced Life

or Are You A Juggler?

Let me start by saying that I'm not looking for professional jugglers for a circus or show!

It is however, a serious question. In todays frenetic, hectic society, we hear phrases like “multi-tasking”. So, I ask again, are you a juggler?

What kind of things do we have to juggle with? Homes, jobs or careers, finances, health, parenting, relationships, educations, employees – the list could go on since we all face different situations and circumstances.

The pace of life today, and the responsibilities we have to care for, are pressing in on people more and more each day. And each one of us has to deal with, and cope with these things the best we can.

Would you be interested, if I could show you a simple strategy or two, that would enable you to deal more effectively with the load you currently have to bear?

You see, if we don't find ways to adapt to the situations we face in life, then pressure builds up, it leads to excessive stress, and eventual breakdown. Then, we're no good to ourselves or anyone else for that matter.

So, what can we do?

The first step, is to sit down, take a piece of paper and write down all the things you have to deal with on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. This will help you to get a full picture of what you're doing, and where you're spending your time.

The next step, is to honestly evaluate whether some of the things you may be doing, could be passed on to someone else, or are even essentials for you! You could be burning yourself out at work for example, by taking on a larger workload than you need to. In this area of life, you may need to learn to say “no”. And you're allowed to say no!

Carry on with this process, all the way through the different things you must do in your unique situation. You may be surprised at just how much you are doing, and more importantly, you may find that some things you do could either be deleted altogether, or delegated to someone else; whether that someone else is a co-worker or family member as the case may be.

Sometimes there is the critical need to stop, reflect, and evaluate on what we're doing in life, and what life is doing to us.

Living a balanced life can seem almost the impossible dream – but it can be achieved with a little thought and planning.

--

About the Author

Life Coach, Ian Scott provides an online coaching service - making coaching

accessible to everyone.
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and when in hypnosis your brain waves alter from the beta pattern of normal waking consciousness to the alpha-theta pattern of sleep and dreaming. What does this really mean and how can this be beneficial to you? It means that you have access to the workings of your subconscious mind.

Broadly speaking, your conscious mind is the logical, rational and problem-solving part of your mind, whereas your subconscious mind is the emotional and imaginative part of your mind. Your conscious mind operates your working memory store (which only holds about 7 chunks of information at any one time) whereas your subconscious contains your long term memory and emotions and controls your nervous system. Needless to say, this is a rather larger and an extremely important portion of your mind.

How many times have you said or thought "I know what I want to do", or "I know what I should do" and yet continue to do what you are used to doing? How many times have you felt a particular feeling, but not been able to control it? Your subconscious mind works and "feels" automatically and instinctively, whereas your conscious mind "tries" to do things. One can appreciate the accuracy and perceptiveness of the phrase "being in two minds" when you begin to consider the different roles of the conscious and subconscious.

When in hypnosis, your conscious and analytical mind is quietened, allowing access to your subconscious mind, the part which is emotional and creative and imaginative. Thus hypnotic suggestions can be made directly to your subconscious mind, enabling a quick and easy change in automatic thought processes, feelings and behavior. And seeing as your subconscious mind is more creative and imaginative, powerful hypnotic visualization techniques can be utilized as well. You can train your mind to visualize the things which you want to happen in your life, and this is massively important as whatever you imagine you create.

Thus hypnosis is an incredibly powerful tool, allowing access to unconscious thought processes, patterns of behavior and emotions, thereby bringing them within your control. Hypnosis can be used as a powerful and effective therapeutic aid in any area of your life which has a psychological dimension...which, basically, is everything. Everything in life starts with a thought. How you think about something dictates how you feel and how you act. What your mind can perceive, your mind can believe and your mind can achieve.

Hypnosis is effective when used in areas of self improvement, and in overcoming fears and phobias, and in assisting in health and medical areas as well. Hypnosis downloads can be used for changing habits, overcoming anxiety, losing weight, defeating depression or in relieving IBS, to name but a few of its applications. Hypnosis has been used for centuries in many guises, and millions of people have been helped in many different ways.

The power of hypnotic suggestion is absolutely amazing. Without realizing it, we are constantly making suggestions to ourselves every day. We say things like "I can't do that", or "I don't like that" or "I'm shy" to ourselves and these are very powerful suggestions we are making to ourselves which shape what we do, how we feel and how we act. These types of suggestions tend to be automatic, and therefore are produced from within the subconscious mind. With hypnosis, powerful suggestions can be made to your subconscious mind to change these deep rooted patterns of thought and behavior.

Imagine how you might be able to feel if you were to automatically and instinctively make different suggestions to yourself. How would you feel if you thought "I can do that", "I like that", "I'm confident", etc? How might that change the way in which you approach situations and therefore the outcome experienced?

Hypnosis is a natural and normal state, a vehicle, which allows access to your subconscious mind, giving you the power to train your brain to be happy, confident, healthy and well. Hypnosis allows access to your creative subconscious mind, bypassing the critical resistance of the conscious mind (the "but that is how I feel" and all the other "buts" and "I can't's" that can be all too familiar to we humans), allowing positive suggestions to be absorbed quickly, easily and effectively.

Hypnosis is an amazingly powerful therapeutic tool.
Not happy with your current state? Want more cheer, a better house, a stronger relationship, a job where you are respected and valued, or want to earn more, close more sales and buy that dream car?

Well, Quit dreaming. Just thinking about them and not taking any single step towards your dreams, your aspirations, and your desires is not going to bring them to you. That's just wishful thinking.

The moment you decide that you want something, and surge ahead to take the next step in that direction, then providence moves too, in your direction. And the object of your desire comes a step closer to you.

Rather than just dreaming, when you focus on what you want, and take the time to write it down, it becomes permanently imprinted in your subconscious. Our brain has a problem solving mechanism. You give it a problem, and it starts to find a solution all the time, even when you don't know about it. The power of the subconscious mind is limitless. The human mind has not been able to completely comprehend what our brain and our subconscious is fully capable of.

What is Goal Setting?
Goal Setting is a formal process of writing down what you wish for, what you desire, and what your truly want. Whether you want more money, or a better relationship, a new car or a better paying job, each of these is a goal. But just saying "I want more money" is not enough. The brain does not understand "more". You must tell it how much more, by explicitly describing it.

Imagine if you were to asked to find a red house in the city. Without the suburb, the zip code, the address or location, you could roam endlessly till the evening, and not be any closer to your destination. But if you are given sufficient details about the location, suburb or address, sooner or later you will find it.

The better you define the object of your desires, the better it will be for your subconscious mind to be able to find it. So the first step in achieving your goals is to define them clearly. Write them down, break them down into smaller chunks, and divide them into categories.

For example you may have financial goals or career goals. That's a category by itself. Similarly, you may want to organize your goals into these or similar categories.

* Financial / Career
* Social / Cultural
* Family / Friends
* Health / Physical
* Personal Development / Educational
* Spiritual

Once you have written down your goals in each category, group them into short term goals and long term goals. For example if you are earning $50,000 a year, and your goal might be to get to 500,000 a year later. Now I am not saying that it is impossible. Nothing is impossible! Unless you win the lottery, it will require a Herculean effort on your part to get to that figure in an year.

So chunking it down helps. Maybe, get to 80,000 in the next year,150,000 the year later, and get to 500,000 by the third, fourth or fifth year. Based on your goals, and how deeply and intensely you want those goals, work out your own blueprint to success.

Once you break it down to short term goals to attain in the next 6-12 months, you could lose 10 pounds, save $5,000 or plan for a vacation cross country. Take small steps, and get successful at doing the smalls steps. Nothing succeeds like success. As you attain small successes, you will get more confidence and more faith in your ability to attain your dream goals. Your motivation and inspiration will increase manifold, and you will be on a roll... going from peak to peak to reach your dreams.

Goal Setting Tips
1. Make sure your goals are SMART goals. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time bound. This gives them power and clarity.

2. Take your 5 year goals, and split then into year by year goals. Then take your first year goal and split further into 6 months goals. Then work on the month by month increments. Work on how you will start updating your resume, or start saving $200 dollars each month, or find a book or video on Yoga or aerobic exercises.

You can even start jogging for 15-20 minutes a day, and then gradually increase it to about 30 to 45 minutes, and eventually take it to an hour of exercises. 6 months is not a very long period. You could have lost a few pounds by then, become a lot trimmer, and will have a new wardrobe of nicely fitting clothes that will give your personality an extra edge.

3. Use a Daily Checklist to remind yourself of the actions you need to take each day to achieving your goals. Don't skip a single day. Even if you can spare only 30 minutes towards your goals, doing so consistently will soon add up, and you will begin to notice the difference it is making in your life!

4. Do a periodic Review of your long and short term goals. See what is working, and feel free to make amends to reflect what you want to change, and what you have already achieved. Keep in mind that personal goal setting is an ever evolving exercise. Your goals evolve dynamically based on the changes in nature, your self and your environment. So keep reviewing them regularly to stay on course.

What are you waiting for? Go ahead, get started now. Write down your goals now. When you look back in a few months time, you will cherish this moment of decision. It will take you towards getting that house, the car, be mortgage free, or find the loving relationship you are looking for.

--
Goal Setting That Works is a Free Goal Setting & Goal Reminder service that automatically sends you your written goals on a weekly basis by email.
