My parents were finding it hard to live in their 5 bedroom house on their own with all of us gone now. The 5 bedroom house was to big for them to keep tidy and the stairs was taking all the energy out of my parents. So we took the action of finding them a retirement property after along chat with them.

We started searching for retirement homes and come across a couple of websites website which was very friendly and easy to use.

After we started chatting to them one company was more interested in the well being and welfare of my parents (in the resource box).

They matched my parents with the most suitable property based upon my parents means and requirements. Once we have informed them of our requirements we were kept up to date with all the suitable properties as they become available.

They informed my parents once a week by letter and by email which i believe is excellent as my parents really wanted to start relaxing and enjoy their retirement.

Eventually a few properties were found which met my parents requirements and we arranged a visit. They were all very local properties to where my parents wanted to be. They fell in love with small but spacious property in the town of Weston-S-Mare on the beach front.

All the rent includes the service charge, ground rent and maintenance, which includes the cost of the House Manager, 24 hour emergency Care line, the upkeep and cleaning of common areas; the upkeep of the external areas, including the gardens, external window cleaning; lift maintenance; insurance of the building.

My parents now have more money to spend and our enjoying their retirement life a lot more and my kids now love their near the beach.

Overall i was very pleased with the process of finding them a retirement property and i am now glad they are happy.

If anyone else has had a pleasant experience it would be nice to hear from you so post a comment and the company you dealt with (if you did so) and i will try and get back to you as soon as i can.

--
Girlings Retirement Property

Tenants Information

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Health and Safety nowadays is very important. But I do think it has gone over the top in some cases. There are hundreds of health and safety courses out there being offered by health and safety business's. But all courses do have to be accredited by either the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), The British Safety Council Awards (BSC Awards), and the Safety Pass Alliance (SPA).

I have been looking into what type of courses there is now and here is some of them:

Accident / Incident Investigation Training Course
Asbestos Awareness Training Course
Auditing for Safety Training Course
BSC Awards Level 2 Certificate in Supervising Staff Safely Training Course
Confined Space Awareness Training Course
The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations Training Course
Controlling Contractors Training Course
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH) Training Course
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessor Training Course
Environmental Management Training Course
Exhibition & Event Health & Safety Awareness Training Course
Fire Risk Assessment Training Course
Hazard & Operability Studies (HAZOP) Training Course
Introduction to Health & Safety Management Training Course
Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) courses
IOSH Managing Safely Training Course
IOSH Managing Safely in the Exhibition & Event Industry Training Course
IOSH Managing Safely in the Oil & Gas Industry Training Course
IOSH Managing Safely Re-certification Training Course
Manual Handling Awareness Training Course
Manual Handling Instructors & Assessors Training Course
Patient / Manual Handling Instructors & Assessors for the Care Industry Training Course
National Exhibition Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) Courses
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health Training Course NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health Training Course
Noise Assessment / Noise at Work Training Course
Office Safety Training Course
Permits to Work Training Course
Presentation Skills Training Course
Risk Assessment 1 day Workshop
Risk Assessment 2 day Workshop
Risk Assessment during Exhibition / Event Build-up & Break-down Training Course
Safety Awareness for Employees Training Course
Safety Awareness for Managers Training Course
Safety Awareness for Directors Training Course
Safety Awareness for Senior Executives Training Course
Safety Awareness in the Exhibition & Events Industry Training Course
Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) courses
SPA Safety Passport Core Health & Safety - 1 day Training Course
SPA Safety Passport, Food & Drink Industry Specific - 2 day Training Course
SPA Safety Passport, Food & Drink Industry Specific Renewal - 1 day Training Course
Safety Representatives and Safety Committees (Safety Improvement Groups) Training Course
Safety Planning for Exhibitions & Events Training Course
Training the Trainer Training Course
Working at Height Training Course

Managing health and safety is an important part of looking after your business. All employers by law are required to control health and safety risks. But surely some of the courses above are the same but just repeated under a different industry name.

I think its a good thing looking after peoples health but I don't really think we need training on it. Most of it is common sense.

--
Oasystss

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Umbrella Companys

In the UK, an umbrella company acts as employer to independent contractors who work under temporary contract, usually through a specialist employment agency.

Recruitment agencies will only issue contracts to a limited company. Since the introduction of the Managed Service Company legislation in the 2007 budget, the only way an independent contractor can comply with this requirement is to set up his or her own personal limited company or use an umbrella company.

An umbrella company issues invoices to the recruitment agency (or client) and, when payment of the invoice is made, will typically pay the contractor through PAYE.

Umbrella companies have become more prevalent since the British government introduced so-called "IR35" legislation that makes it less beneficial to start your own company and increasingly attractive to join an umbrella company.

IR35 is a term used to denote United Kingdom tax legislation designed to tax "disguised employment" at a rate similar to employment. In this context, "disguised employees" means workers who receive payments from a client via an intermediary and whose relationship with their client is such that had they been paid directly they would be employees of the client. Before IR35 was introduced workers who owned their own companies were allowed to receive payments from clients direct to the company and to use the company revenue as would any small company.

With doing some research into umbrella companies i have found out that most of them offer the same services.

* Turn timesheets from contractors into invoices and submit to agencies

* Process funds from agencies and send to your bank account

* Process your expenses ensuring you maximise your income and tax efficiency.

Whilst many of the umbrella companies advertise similar offerings, much of the detail should be checked by the user.

--
ContractorSolutions

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

You can now move out of your house and into a new one anywhere within in Europe and your house content will be delivered by ease e.g removals to Alicante or removals to France. Yous house hold goods will be picked up by one company and taken to the airport if needed to and then picked up at the other side by the same company. So your not passing your items around to different businesses you don't know.

You can then be left to enjoy your time moving to your new house. You don't want to be stressing if everything is fine or not.

Top hints and tips on packing and moving:

Access and Parking
Vehicles obviously, must be able to park outside your property whilst loading and unloading. If you have parking bays or yellow lines on the road and we are not able to park off the road, please arrange with the local authorities for special dispensation for parking.

Divan Beds Drawers in divan beds should be emptied.

Chests of Drawers
These can be left filled with soft and light items.

Wardrobes
We can provide wardrobe boxes for the items that are normally hung .

Lamp Shades
Should be packed in snug fitting boxes to prevent damage.

Fragile items
Should be wrapped and packed separately.

Freezers and Fridges
Please empty and defrost these to prevent mold.

Washing Machines
Should be disconnected and emptied.
Car Accident

A motorist owes a "duty of care" to other road users. This means he/she should not hurt other people, whether other drivers, passengers (including passengers in his/her own vehicle), pedestrians, cyclists and so forth.

In simple terms, what has to be shown if your claim is to be successful is that the motorist has been at fault because he or she has failed to drive with reasonable care.

If a motorist who is at fault is either uninsured or untraced, then innocent victims are protected by the Motor Insurers' Bureau (the MIB), which provides a fund that can be claimed against in these circumstances.

The UK has one of the best records for road safety in the EU, and also compares favorably with countries such as Japan, Australia and the US.

However, road traffic accidents are still a leading cause of death and serious injury in this country. Figures from the Department of Transport show that in the year 2006, there were over 3,000 fatalities and 28,000 serious injuries. There were more than 258,000 recorded injuries in total.

There are around 10,000 car accidents in the UK every day. Car accidents can be caused by vehicle failure or poor road maintenance. The vast majority are the result of human error.

When presented with a possible car accident claim there are a few elements that need to be considered and checked against. From the beginning we need to make sure that the police are aware of every element of injury to you and damage to your car. The smallest scratch, as well as the smallest inconvenience regarding time and finance can constitute a successful claim.

Also a very important aspect of any potential claim is time. It is vital that the case is submitted as soon as possible to ensure a successful claim.

The Highway Code is a good guide when trying to assess who is at fault. Some of the more common faults in driving result from speeding, overtaking, failing to keep a proper lookout.

http://getcompensation.co.uk/claimexplained/6/road-traffic-accidents

http://getcompensation.co.uk/claimexplained/24/car-accident-claims

--
I am working on behalf of Harris Fowler promoting how to get compensation from an accident

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

You may be entitled to compensation if you have been injured in an accident. You see and hear that saying everywhere nowadays and you get compensation from literally anything.

Below are just a few things you can claim compensation from:

* ACCIDENTS AT WORK

* ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

* MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENTS

* ACCIDENTS INVOLVING BRAIN OR SPINAL INJURY

* OCCUPATIONAL ILLNESS CLAIMS - Where injury is caused by stress occasioned at work, often resulting from pressure or volumes of work of an unreasonable amount, there can be a claim for compensation.

* OCCUPIERS LIABILITY - If you have been injured on someones property, for example a supermarket, then you may be able to claim compensation under the Occupiers Liability Act.

* PRODUCT LIABILITY - If you can show that the product itself is defective then you have a right to claim compensation.

* TRAVEL CLAIMS - Claims can involve defective hotel premises (often swimming pools), food poisoning and accidents occurring on transfer. A carrier (ie the airplane or travel company with whom you are flying) will normally be liable for any accidents which occur during air travel, including embarking and disembarking from an aircraft.

Even if your injury is as a result of an accident not listed here you can discuss your claim on a free, no obligation basis with more injury lawyers. I just believe their is too much now a days. E.g. Claiming compensation from stress at work, every gets stressed some time or another.

I believe that sometimes this is going to far because you get people trying to get compensation when their injury was caused by their fault. They see there is an opportunity to get hurt and claim compensation because of how many acts there are and a lot of people just do it.

http://getcompensation.co.uk/index.php

http://getcompensation.co.uk/claimexplained

--
http://getcompensation.co.uk/index.php

http://getcompensation.co.uk/claimexplained

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
