Easier, Shorter and Safer Birth

Submitted by reuben wallis

Giving birth naturally is not easy contrary to what most of the soaps put out there. Expanding your cervix, long labors, gut-wrenching pain, watching the soaps is enough to scare anyone willy-nilly. But pregnancy happens to be the most fulfilling phase of any woman's life especially as she holds the newborn in her hands for the first time. I've been there and if you're a first timer, there are a few things you may need to consider. For starters, trying to induce the pregnancy is not a great idea. I can understand that you would want to get it done with as quickly as possible, but inducing birth chemically is not really advisable. Your body has a clock and its set to the max, meaning any pre-chemically induced births can lead to underdevelopment and further complications along the way. And then there's the cesarean option, one that you shouldn't even consider unless and until it is absolutely necessary.

As a first timer, you are bound to get a little anxious as your date draws near. That's a given, every mother-to-be irrespective of the number of times she has given birth will be anxious as the date fast approaches. You can either chalk it up to sheer nerves or a case of watching too many episodes of the Bold and the Beautiful. Either way, there are a few options that you can consider to make the process more easier, shorter and safer birth.
I'm not talking about some yucky herbal drink or some massage down there, but rather about acupuncture. The point [no pun intended] is that acupuncture does help to relieve stress and pain, so it will ease things up for you in a big way.

You may want to check out easier, shorter and safer birth as it provides relevant information on acupuncture and how to utilize it to make the whole process seem more of a blur than an extended session of pain and anxiety. As a mother, you will feel the urge to do all you can to help your baby, even if it means doing things the natural way. There's nothing wrong with that except that you may want to check out acupuncture as a means to relieving the stress [which is not good for the baby] and the anxiety levels coursing through you at the time of birth.

This book provides 52 pages of content, draped with pictures and charts, so in the end, you should be able to find your way to effective maternity acupuncture with no hassles whatsoever. Basically the book shows you how to go into labor from the comforts of your own home. I'm not all sold on the ‘from your own home' part, since I am more of a hospital buff. Anyway, getting back to this book, it provides information on how to get your cervix to expand faster, how to speed up the contractions and more importantly, how to relieve pain with the 7 acupuncture points. If you are looking for alternative ways to deal with your labor pain, you may want to check out this book.
