Fundraising With A Conscience

Submitted by News & Experts
Tue, 11 Aug 2009

With the online predators becoming the scourge of the Internet, and teen-agers participating in negative online activities such as "sexting" and trading inappropriate emails and photos, it's more important than ever to promote safe and positive online interaction between students.

Yoursphere.com is an online community whose sole purpose is to support and engage kids and teens in rewarding, purposeful and positive age-appropriate youth-selected activities - sports, music, fashion, academics, gaming, art & photo, performing arts, fashion, movies & TV, etc. - all while putting their safety first. Moreover, Yoursphere can now be a lucrative fundraising partner for your school or non-profit organization.

"We feel that extracurricular school activities have always been the foundation of a student's social interaction," said Mary Kay Hoal, President of Yoursphere. "Online interaction can augment and support those activities, which is why we put together a plan to help bring both elements together in a way that can generate much needed revenue."

Joined by Lee Rees, the co-founder of MaxPreps.com, America's source for high school sports, it is Yoursphere's desire to give back in a manner that can most help these groups further extend the shared goal of positively impacting the lives of youth: financial support.
Yoursphere.com would like to offer school groups and non profits an opportunity to sell Yoursphere memberships as a way of promoting positive online activity and, at the same time, generate revenue for their groups. Yoursphere is offering a 40 percent share of all sales with groups who participate in the program, far more than the 15 - 20 percent shared by most other fundraising programs.

Schools can earn thousands of dollars for their sports programs and clubs based on this breakdown of revenues:

• 40 percent of each annual membership fee sold ($39.95 annual fee) goes back to schools.
• Fundraise one time, and receive royalties for lifetime of each membership sold. (i.e. 12 year old joins and stays a member until 18. school gets 6 years of royalties.)
• Schools and non profits can have their own school web pages (i.e. American River Middle School, or Terra Linda High School. etc)
• Sign up at: www.yoursphere.com/register/fundraiser

o 50 memberships sold = $799 earned, $3,196 4-yr tl*
o 150 memberships sold = $2,397 earned, $9,588 4-yr tl*
o 500 memberships sold = $7,990 earned, $31,960 4- yr tl*
o 1,000 memberships sold = $15,980 earned, $63,920 4-yr tl*
o 1,500 memberships sold = $23,970 earned, $95,880 4-yr tl*
o 3,000 memberships sold = $ 47,940 earned, $191,760 4-yr tl*

*"Earned" revenue share based on annual membership fee of $39.95, "Total" based on 40% paid on average annual membership life span of four years, but available for up to 11 years.

About the Author

Yoursphere was founded and created to foster, support and embolden the positive, age-appropriate interests, aspirations and talents of youth. As such, Yoursphere has created a members-only scholarship program, as well as a mechanism for donations to member selected youth-supported philanthropies. The company's founder was concerned that kids and teens were participating in communities that clearly were created and meant for adults due to their adult content, explicit nature, total anonymity and complete lack of safeguards.
