Save Your Smile, Stop GrindingSubmitted by reuben wallis Mon, 2 Mar 2009
Did you know that your body can enact a series of actions while you are asleep without your knowledge? From night walking to a set of other actions, these are often carried out by your sub-conscious part of your brain and you are none the wiser on waking up. For example, did you know that ‘sleep walking’ happens more often than otherwise thought about? I am sure that if you told your friend Bernie about this, his immediate quip would go something like this “sleep walking, do you mean walking when your foot is asleep?” Sleep clenching or grinding your teeth while asleep falls in the same category as sleep walking and pray that your friend Bernie does not blurt out the first thing that pops into his head with regard to this problem. But Bernie aside, the fact of the matter is that this problem affects more people than sleep walking does. Some of us have this habit of clenching our teeth while sleeping, with the end result, our crowns get graded down. We should not be too surprised if we are to find a few bits and pieces of tooth enamel on waking up. But telling yourself to stop clenching your teeth while asleep is not going to do the trick here for you need to learn how to relax your muscles, especially the ones near your jaw. The ‘save your smile, stop grinding’ does shed some light in this matter and with the tit-bits provided here, you should be able to shine while smiling [sorry if that sounds corny].
The one sure-fire way to find out whether you suffer from Bruxism [yeah, that’s the moniker for this condition] is to see if you suffer from any pain/soreness in your jaw on waking up. If you have been into grinding your teeth down for some time to come, then chances are that they are ‘hyper sensitive’ by now. Translated that means that you will experience pain on drinking anything cold or lemony [citrus drinks]. If you discover that you are indeed the latest member of the teeth grinders club, then you may need to review the ‘save your smile stop grinding’. This book does provide a different take on the methodology used to cure this irritating condition and emphasizes the fact that this condition stems mainly from stress. From what I have seen so far, I have to say that this product does take the cake. From providing me with a neat way to avoid expensive doctor’s bill to making it possible for me not to grind my teeth down, I have to say that I am impressed. So my advice to you would be to read this book and implement the measures contained there. At the least, it should help you avoid the hefty medical bills and did I mention that this product comes with its own range of bonus products to help you achieve sound sleep? Frankly, between you and me, I had always thought that for a sound sleep, all that one needed to do was to listen to a politician, but hey, that’s me. So, are you ready to stop the grinding?
