He has seven years of experience in county social services, four years of experience as the clinical coordinator of two different Employee Assistance Programs working with business and industry to address personnel problems, and one year as the marketing coordinator of a fortune 500 drug and alcohol hospital.

He earned a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources, a Master of Guidance and Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.

"When I was 23, I actually got all the academic requirements and had intended to go to chiropractic school," Nygaard said. "I then switched academic paths and got a BS in Special Education.

"I always maintained an interest in chiropractic, much because a close cousin of mine was a chiropractor. When the Drug and Alcohol Hospital I was working at was sold, I needed to find another career path, and at the age of 35, I returned to school to pursue a career in Chiropractic," he explained.
