Can I make money by having free article submission site, I'm new and never tried this before

Hello all.
I am Bell, I am new here.

I know i can insert google ads etc in my free article submission site but it is really worth it if I want to invest my time and money in providing free article submission site?

Please tell me your experience.

yes! you can make some extra money by just making article of your site...It is more cheap to submit in the free article submission sites than to buy some article submission tools.  Base from my experience, when I try to buy those article submission tools, some of these doesn't work.  You just consuming your money and time. On the other hand, my site deals about suits, such as men tuxedos etc. in which I base my article.

I average about $5 a day with my main one, spending maybe 15 minutes every few days approving articles and every month about 3 hours pruning/optimizing.
I recently added Kontera and it bumped up earnings by about $2 a week.
It isn't much but over the year it does add up, and it is useful for other things.

However at the beginning you must spend quite a lot of time and effort on promoting it, optimizing it etc etc, if you don't, it will bring zero.

I have four more sites that I have spent less time on and they bring zero, but as I said, all are still useful for other stuff, like providing backlinks to further sites and they all give you the ability to send emails to people.

These aren't read very much but it all helps, I think it is the best part.. it's a bit like fishing or going after women, some catch the fish, some don't but they all do if they spend enough time and are methodical in their approach.
For me it beats spending time playing computer games.

Despite spending tons of time verifying articles, catching spammers and monotoring my web server usage I gave up.

Thats why I more than understand what people like ArticleTrader have to go through in insuring quality articles while balancing/fighting the spam.

For those of us that havent made it to the big time like articletrader, i think more focused niches and a more discrimitory process are the wave of future article submission sites.

I find that whatever seems very complicated will get easier and easier to do as you keep on doing it. Sometimes you also need to focus on individual areas and to test a lot to see results.
One good use of an article site is when you have traffic for some advertiser and then you lose the advertiser.
In my case I had traffic going to "picasa" and then google stopped paying for picasa downloads.
I simply made a picasa page with some waffle about it, and redirected that traffic to the page.
I don't even know what ads are coming up on the page but I do get clicks from people. It is not focused traffic but any traffic is better than no traffic.

I usually work on getting $5 a day. But to make $5 a month can be dead easy and you don't need an article site.
I have a couple of domains that I haven't developed much on but they get about 30 visitors a day from type in and some *well placed backlinks*.
Not many people, but 900 visitors a month translate to $5 or more in clicks. Or $60 yearly.
That's on hosting that's already paid for and so each year the domain earns me $50 and pays for the $10 domain fee.
While I am at it, here's one, it deals with seychelles vacations it's just a domain based on keywords that I descovered Italians to be typing quite often.

But to get more clicks on adsense I find that one area that people miss out on is that they must try to get "presold" traffic, not just sterile backlinks or traffic that's not focused on anything.
By presold I mean users that come to your page expecting the page to contain what they are looking for.

Users never hang around for long or read anything, they just frantically look around here and there searching for their magic whatever it is that they are looking for.

So if your google ad is right there drawing attention to itself like a cookie, they'll click on it.

One thing that helps is to look at the ads and if you see some that always come up and never look like matching your content (eg:any of those ads that use wildcards to match EVERY keyword there is, like ebay did) then get into your adsense accound and ban them from your site.

Yes you can earn some extra money but you have to spend extra time for managing the site, fighting spams. All the best for your quest. :D
