The Next Global Economic Crisis?

Submitted by David Salt
Thu, 30 Jul 2009

While the world is still talking about the current economic crisis, there is already talk of what the next crisis might look like. It is hoped by nearly everyone in the world that there isn't another crisis. However, taking a look back at history shows that there will likely be a future economic crisis. What will that crisis look like, and how will it affect people? Will it be as bad as the current economic crisis that we are just starting to come out of?

While it is not possible to predict the future, there are some things that people can look at to help to predict what the next crisis might look like. Taking a look at the facts before people now show that the next crisis will likely be related to the current crisis. As a result of the current economic crisis, governments around the world have been taking on large amounts of debt and giving out debt advice in order to ease the pain on their citizens. While the efforts may have some short term benefits, the long term problems are not known at this time.

At some point though, the government will have to deal with the debt accumulated. Some difficult decisions will need to be made, in order to deal with that large debt. Governments may have to make some painful decisions. They might decide that they need to cut services to the people in order to deal with the debt problem that they have. The risk is that if you take too much money from the people in the form of taxes, then people won't have enough money to pay their bills. If people don't have enough money to pay their bills, they can't afford to support economic activity for the overall economy. These are just theories, but taking an objective look at overall economic conditions can give people a good idea of what the future will look like.
