How Can Wall Display Systems Help YouSubmitted by manjeet Fri, 9 May 2008
When was the last time you ventured into a store and wondered how they managed to pack so many products into such a limited space? The store was most probably utilizing wall display systems. For the most part people are not familiar with wall systems and their efficiency of using space, but they may be surprised to find out that they are industry standard and are used by most retail stores.
Wall systems comprise of an assortment of hanging rods or hooks and shelves that enable products to be hung near the walls or stacked, as opposed to just floor racks. There are two fundamental groups of wall systems and these are wall slats and freestanding models. Wall slats are notching systems essentially attached to the walls themselves, while freestanding units don't need any help with supporting their structure. The notches or slats are capable of holding an assortment of shelving or hanging mechanisms whereas freestanding units are preferred if the store environment is frequently changing. Freestanding units allow for easy moving, whereas wall slats are probably more permanent. There are several variations of wall systems, but all have the same common theme and that is to create additional floor space and better potential visibility of the products in store. If for instance, hanging clothes are featured on single or double rows against a wall, floor racks would then be uniformly spaced right through the store, making the floor displays much more effective. With this kind of display system setup, customers are able to move freely all through the store. Having everything cluttered, causing a 'close' environment with narrow passages can cause customers to soon tire of shopping in the store. With an effective wall display system, you will in actual fact be creating the open space environment a customer craves. Not only do you end up having accessible floors, but you will also have the added advantage of the display items becoming more noticeable, even from the other side of the store. Different levels will also allow more products to be seen in one sweep of the store rather than customers having to actively route through the store's whole product range. A wall system display can often be the mark of a really professional store. Consider a retail environment like a low budget resale shop that is just totally cluttered and then compare it to a retail environment with a wall system. Effective and attractive wall display systems mark a more organized and professional environment from the rest. About the Author
